Minmaxing

Taking the minimum and the maximum of a range of cells is easy. However, you may sometimes need to think about how you combine the two. That’s what this exercise is about. Let’s jump into it.

We have the results of tests of three people: Ashley, Bob and Charlie. We are interested in their individual highest score. For example, for Ashley, that score is 79 (cell E2).

There is one thing that we have to keep in mind though. Some tests had a bonus exercise for extra points. With these points added, it became possible to score above 100. For the final score, we would like to cap the value at 100.

So we want the highest test score, unless it is larger than 100, in that case, we want the score to be 100. Fill in the cells F2, F3 and F4 with this highest score using the Min and Max functions.
